It sure has been a while. I’m trying to survive the craziness of COVID-19, distance learning with my four kids, running my business from home, keep my house clean, the laundry done, and not go mentally insane ;).
Oh ya – and we moved to a new home in a new state amongst all of this… HA!
Needless to say – I’ve been BUSY!
Right before all of this Corona Virus Insanity hit, my family and I visited one of our favorite little mountain towns, with Southern California’s closest ski and snowboard resort, Wrightwood, California!
Funny back story – my parents lived in Wrightwood during my college years, and all of my best friends and I would work at the ski resort every Winter/Spring season! It was SO. MUCH. FUN!
So when Mt. High Ski Resort invited me and my family to come check out all they had to offer, I was thrilled!
Mt. High is only 90 miles from downtown Los Angeles, so it’s easily accessible from all over California!
It has 300 acres of skiable terrain, 14 lifts total, and has three different resort areas, all within a mile of each other!
The West Resort has beginner to advanced terrain, plus their world class terrain park (funny story time again – this same terrain park is where I got a hairline fracture on my hip from a rainbow rail back in my younger, more fun days ;).
The East Resort has the longest trails in Southern California skiing, and then my kid’s favorite part – the snow play activities area, which includes tubing, sledding, snow play, and scenic chair rides.
The North Resort has more lower level terrain, perfect for beginner and families, and then more tubing, snowshoeing, and snowplay!
We did all of our rentals on site at Mt High, and it was such an easy and seamless process!
Day one was full of snowboarding and skiing, and at night we were happy to stay at one of the cabins of a super host, who has over 15 cabins in the area.
I’ve had the pleasure of staying in several of her cabins, and they are an absolute dream. Cozy, well decorated and stocked, with games and more for kids! So family friendly! Linking to one of them HERE and you can explore her other listings as well!
Have you ever been to Wrightwood?!
You have to try the little Mexican restaurant called Mexico Lindo, on Evergreen Rd. I hope you enjoyed this post and that it encourages you to get out there and explore with your family!
